Choirs

Chancel Choir:   Our traditional choir is the Chancel Choir.  This group provides time honored Choral Music, as well as contemporary music written in the traditional style, and support for the regular church service twice monthly.  We prepare anthems to accompany Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month as well as an appropriate selection for the final Sunday of each month.

We provide a strengthening and supportive environment for Christian fellowship with other musicians.  We meet weekly on Thursday nights from September to June at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room.  We encourage everyone to explore this exciting ministry opportunity by joining us for a quarter or two ~ even the whole year if it works into your schedule.  If you have any questions regarding this or any of the choirs,  please contact Sue Trukken, any choir member or the Church Office.

Gospel Choir:  The Gospel Choir is the newest addition to the choral line-up here at church.  We're the hippest place to be at 5:30 on a Thursday evening!  The Gospel Choir provides Gospel, Contemporary and Jazz style anthems during the regular church service once a month.  We sing and clap and dance to the music as we worship the Lord.  We hope to inspire the Congregation to join the Worship through the music we provide.   This group is open to anyone who enjoys worshiping the Lord in joyful song.  We, too, provide a strengthening and supportive environment for Christian fellowship with other musicians.  If you have questions regarding this or any of the choirs, please contact Sue Trukken, any choir member or the Church Office.

Choraleers:  This group of ladies came together through the efforts of Lila Cassidy and is made up of a chosen few singers who have the time and inclination to practice two extra hours a week and fill in all the blank spaces in the musical calendar: all the Holidays, all through the Summer, special requests at other Churches in Ramona, Clubs in the area, as well as once a month during both regular worship services. The faces you see have changed since this group's inception, but their goal has remained the same; to provide quality women's choral music that praises God and inspires others to do the same.  Toward the end of each summer we search for new arrangements and accompaniments to add to the repertoire... often Sue Trukken writes the arrangements for our a cappella pieces. We always welcome your comments and requests.

Minor Miracles is our choir for children ages 5 through 3rd grade; many of our friends from the Congregational Children's Center sing with us too!  We meet during the regular schoolyear on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary for rehearsal and then in the Fireside room for a Craft and snack time with Grandma Carr.   We present both contemporary and traditional music - sometimes even with the combined Adult Choirs. Generally we sing once a month during the 2nd worship service.  We have a great time singing with Miss Sue and we learn basic music skills while we're at it.  If this sounds like something you'd enjoy doing, call Miss Sue or the Church Office for more information.

Heaven Bound is our choir for children 4th - 6th grade; children who come to the after school program at the Congregational Children's Center sing in this choir as well.  We also meet during the regular school year on Wednesdays at 4:15  in the Sanctuary for rehearsal and then in the Fireside room for a Craft and Snack time with Grandma Carr.  On the same day that Minor Miracles sing, we sing too, for BOTH services.  We have a great time singing with Miss Sue and we also learn basic music skills.  If this sounds like something you'd enjoy doing, call Miss Sue or the Church Office for more information.
