Maundy Thursday

  • First Congregational Church of Ramona 404 8th Street Ramona United States (map)

Join us in worshiping Jesus as we acknowledge Maundy Thursday—commemorating the night of Jesus’ betrayal and his final meal with his friends.

The word "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, or “commandment,” reflecting Jesus' words "I give you a new commandment: Love one another” (John 13:34). During Jesus’ final meal with his friends – the “last supper” – Jesus washed his disciples’ feet as an example of what it looks like to love one another. So on Maundy Thursday, we will reflect on Jesus’ love for us and, in worshiping God, we will learn how to love others as Jesus loves us.
