Join us Saturday, February 10th at 3pm for our Women’s Tea! We meet in the Fireside Room. Coffee and tea will be served—bring a treat to share with the group!
Clothing Yarn, & Remnant Fabric Drive: In February, we’re inviting our attendees, if they so wish, to donate clothing, yarn or fabric remnants for several service projects.
1) Stuffed Ornaments for our community outreach booth we’ll have later this year—felt, flannel, fleece, cotton work great for these! Let our office know if you’d like to help make these!
2) Remcheers service project of Doris Jones Labors of Love (see below info)
3) Yarn donations will be passed on to our Prayer Shawl Sisterhood and/or Dori for Remcheers.
What is a Remcheer? Using remnants and loving cheer, a Remcheer is a labors of love Rag Doll or Memory Bear handcrafted by Doris Faye Jones of Doris Jones Labors of Love. Remcheer’s are made with upcycled fabric from clothing or remnant fabrics and are adorned with handstitched faces and yarn hair.
*cotton, flannel and nonstretchy fabrics work best
Remcheer’s are freely gifted and intended for individuals in need of support, care and love to include, but are not limited to: Bereavement and Grief Support, Widows/Widowers, Loss of a parent, infant or child, Miscarriage/Reconciliation, Emotional Support, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Mental Health or Physical Disabilities, or other challenging life event(s). Let Dori know if you’d like to participate or know someone in need of some cheer!
