Blue Christmas Service – Friday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Hosted by First Congregational Church in partnership with St. Mary’s-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church
Our Blue Christmas is a sacred space for all who seek hope during the Advent season. It is for everyone, and it will be a special blessing for those who find the holidays difficult or heavy this year. This service acknowledges the complicated feelings that often arise during this season and gently reminds us of the profound truth at the heart of Advent: God entered not a perfect world, but a world in need of healing.
In both UCC and the Anglican traditions, Advent invites us to wait with honesty, pray with the whole Church, and trust that God is already at work in the midst of our longing.
If you have never attended a Blue Christmas service before, we especially encourage you to give it a try this year. Together, First Congregational Church and St. Mary’s-in-the-Valley welcome you into a quiet, prayerful space offering hope and comfort through scripture, prayer, and music led by Amanda Ellis, Anaya Johnson, and Lilly Whigham.
Come as you are. Find rest for your soul.
