Christmas Happenings
Dear Church Family,
As the holiday season approaches, we warmly invite you to join us for our special Christmas worship gatherings at First Congregational Church of Ramona. This time of year can bring a mixture of joy, hope, and sometimes even sorrow, and our services seek to meet each of those experiences with grace and love.
Blue Christmas Service – Friday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Our Blue Christmas Service is a sacred space for all who seek hope during the Advent season. It is for everyone, but it will be a special blessing to those who find the holidays difficult or heavy this year. It acknowledges the complicated feelings that often arise during this season and gently reminds us of the profound truth at the heart of Advent: God entered not a perfect world, but a world in need of healing. If you have never attended this service before, I especially encourage you to give it a try this year. The service offers hope and comfort through prayer, scripture, and music led by Amanda Ellis, Anaya Johnson, and Lilly Whigham. Come as you are and find rest for your soul.
Christmas Cantata Service – Sunday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. (One Service Only!)
On December 21st, we will gather for a beautiful Christmas Cantata service celebrating the joy and wonder of Christ’s birth. Please note that this will be our only worship service that morning; we will not hold the usual 8:45 a.m. service. This special service is an important moment for our congregation, and I would love for you to be a part of it. Come ready to be uplifted by inspiring music, meaningful scripture, and the warmth of community.
Christmas Eve Gatherings – Wednesday, December 24th at 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00 p.m.
On Christmas Eve, join us for one of three beautiful candlelight services featuring a Living Nativity, beloved carols, and the joy of candlelight worship. These gatherings are a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of Christ with your family, friends, and community. Come experience the wonder and peace of this holy night.
Christmas Gathering – Sunday, December 28th 8:45a.m. and 10:00a.m.
On December 28th, we will celebrate Christmas at FCC! Children are invited to come to church in their pajamas and grown-ups are invited to come in their favorite (ugly) Christmas sweater…. there may even be a competition! Come worship God and have some fun.
Whether you come to find solace or to celebrate, we hope these gatherings will be a source of blessing for you and your loved ones this Advent season. Please invite friends, family, and neighbors who might need a place to experience the light of Christ.
We look forward to worshiping together and sharing the hope that comes through Emmanuel—God with us.
