Episcopal News Service Covers Ramona Youth Collaborative

We’re excited to share that the Episcopal News Service has just published a feature article on the Ramona Youth Collaborative!

The article by Shireen Korkzan, titled “Ecumenical partnership gives San Diego-area teens inclusive space to be themselves”, tells the story of how four Ramona congregations—First Congregational Church of Ramona, Ramona United Methodist Church, Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, and St. Mary’s in the Valley Episcopal Church—have come together to create a safe and welcoming space for local youth.

The Ramona Youth Collaborative (RYC) is all about belonging. It’s about giving teenagers a place where they can show up as themselves, build friendships across church lines, and discover a deeper sense of faith and community. The Episcopal News Service highlights how this kind of partnership is both rare and deeply needed in today’s world—an example of churches working together not out of competition, but out of shared care for the next generation.

Here’s one of the things we love most about the article: it lifts up the Collaborative’s commitment to radical hospitality and inclusion. Teens don’t need to fit a mold, follow a script, or belong to a certain church to be welcomed. The message is simple but powerful: you belong here.

We’re grateful to the Episcopal News Service for recognizing and sharing this story, and we’re even more grateful to the youth, families, and partner churches who are making the Collaborative a place of life and joy.
